Palette House is the custom design workshop new to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Use its pixel art editor to create custom food, drinks, clothing, pets, house exteriors, and island ground tiles.

Design any food item from scratch. Create custom meals, snacks, and beverages with unique names and calorie values. Gift to Miis for personalised reactions.
Clothing Details
Add custom patterns, logos, and designs to clothing items. Create unique shirts, jackets, and accessories not available in regular shops.

Design custom pet creatures for your Miis. Pixel-art animals that live with Miis in their rooms and affect their daily mood.

Customise the exterior colour and pattern of any Mii's house. Override the default personality-based house colour with your own design.

How to Use Palette House — Step by Step
- 1Unlock Palette House
Palette House becomes available via the Wishing Fountain after approximately 12 Miis move in. Cost: 300 Warm Fuzzies.
- 2Open Palette House
Tap on the Palette House building on your island. Select the type of design you want to create: Food, Clothing, Pet, House, or Ground Tile.
- 3Use the Pixel Editor
The editor provides a grid canvas (32×32 pixels for most items). Use the colour palette on the right side to paint your design. Available tools: brush (1px, 2px, 4px), fill bucket, eraser, and eye dropper.
- 4Name Your Creation
Each custom design needs a name (up to 12 characters). For food, you also set a "fullness" value (how much it fills a Mii's hunger bar).
- 5Save to Library
Your design is saved to the Palette House library. From there you can: use it in-game, share it locally, or export it for Tomopattern.com.
- 6Share Designs
To share: tap the design → "Share" → generate a share code. Other players can import your code at their own Palette House. For wider sharing, upload to Tomopattern.com.

Share designs directly to nearby Switch consoles. Both players need to be connected to local wireless. Supports up to 8 players per session. No internet required.

Palette House FAQ
Can I import pixel art from external tools?+
Yes! The "Living the Grid" (livingthegrid.com) community tool lets you create pixel art on PC and generate a Palette House import code. This is especially useful for complex designs like character sprites.
How many designs can I save?+
The Palette House library holds up to 40 designs. To free space, delete old designs or export them to Tomopattern.com before deleting locally.
Can I change the design of an existing item?+
You can edit saved designs in your library at any time. However, Miis who already have a custom food or clothing item will keep the version they received. The edit only applies to future uses.
Can I give custom food to Miis as gifts?+
Yes. Custom food items from Palette House work exactly like regular food. Miis can love or hate them. The fullness value you set affects how much hunger they satisfy.
